Job description Sumalytics Inc. in Gatineau, Quebec: Our flagship product is Variance Analytics™ (VATM) which is a Business Intelligence Software System for identifying and managing costs in hospitals. It enhances any existing financial decision support and patient-cost-accounting system by incorporating advanced analytics and a web interface that is easy to use. We need a person to support hospital users in the implementation of Variance Analytics in our first dozen customers. The ideal candidate for this opportunity excels at adaptability, communicates with impact, influences others, feels at home with personal computers, is adept at decision-making and problem solving, and demonstrates the ability to work independently in a small team. As the company grows, this role can evolve into the management of a team of consultants spread across North America. This role change will depend on the person’s demonstrated capabilities, and desire for an expanded role. |

deliver feedback of customers’ product requirements to the Sumalytics team, ensure customers’ requirements are understood and supported | |
| Short Term Responsibilities |

deliver product demonstrations to potential and existing clients |

|
interpret our analytical system to the non-technical physician and manager users and interpret their feedback to the Sumalytics team | |
|
take new features to the users for their use and assessment | |
|
help customers apply VA™ through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact | |
|
build attractive, functional presentations and demonstrations | |

understand hospital pain points around operations and costs |

understand how VA™ can contribute to resolving those pain issues | |
|
consult with the users to create new useful reports, beyond standard templates | |
|
support the sales and marketing team in finding and closing new business | |

determine the strengths and weaknesses of the Variance Analytics system from the users’ point of view |
|
|
develop benchmarking capabilities for the users | |
|
keep up to date on new product releases and upgrades | |

some travel required locally, within Canada and U.S.A | |

|
excellent social skills to interact with customers on a daily basis |

excellent written and oral communication, as well as experience presenting to diverse audiences | |
|
strong ability to multitask and manage change in a fast paced environment | |

ability to work in a small entrepreneurial environment with shared accountability and minimal supervision | |

excellent problem solving and quantitative skills | |

independent learner of Variance Analytics™ and other software packages | |
|
ability to install basic business software on various systems | |

computer skills Microsoft Office and other software | |

basic understanding of linear algebra and cost accounting an asset | |
| Experience |

|
5 or more years of experience in healthcare or healthcare finance |
|
|
understand Business intelligence tools | |
|
understand cost-accounting concepts | |
|
BA or BS degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare or related field | |
|
decision support experience a plus | |
|
client relationship management experience | |
|
strong general consulting skills, experience presenting technical information | |
|
adept at persuasion, delegation, problem solving and people management, able to foster/maintain teamwork | |
|
Bilingualism an asset | |
